Who We Are
Empowering The Pew is a resource for believers in the pew who want to grow in their faith and in their knowledge of God’s Word. To encourage both, this online resource will present teachings and tools that will empower you to discover the obvious bread and the hidden manna in Scripture. Jesus affirms His Father’s intent that both the obvious bread and the hidden manna in Scripture are treasures to which you – the believer in the pew – are heir.
“At that time Jesus, full of joy through the Holy Spirit, said, ‘I praise You, Father, Lord of heaven and earth, because You have hidden these things from the wise and learned, and revealed them to little children. Yes, Father, for this was Your good pleasure.’” (Luke 10:21 – NIV)
“Like newborn babies, crave pure spiritual milk, so that by it you may grow up in your salvation, now that you have tasted that the Lord is good.” (1 Peter 2:2 – NIV)
“But solid food is for the mature, who by constant use have trained themselves to distinguish good from evil.” (Hebrews 5:14 – NIV)

Who You Are
The ‘little children” in the above passage – are the believers in the pew, first because we are all God’s children. Additionally, this term of endearment refers to any who have not been seminary trained but who have an ear to hear, a heart to believe, a mind to receive, and the hands and feet to do God’s Will, God’s Way, in God’s time, and to God’s Glory – based on God’s Word~! Just as Jesus came to us first as a little child and “grew in wisdom and stature, and in favor with God and man” (Luke 2:52), so this online resource will encourage you to move from spiritual milk to solid food in your knowledge of Jesus, Who is God’s Word in the Flesh:

Mission
The mission of this website is to encourage and empower YOU – the believer in the pew - to diligently engage the textbook of your faith – the Bible in your hand – with credibility and confidence!
The command to study or to “correctly handle the word of truth,” which the Apostle Paul gave to Timothy, was a command that was/is binding upon both the preacher in the pulpit and the believer in the pew:
Many believers in the pew have mistakenly concluded that they cannot know what the Word of God is saying unless they have been seminary trained. Without a doubt, seminary training is essential to creditable scholarship, regarding the Bible, and the Bible in your hand places the scholarship of those who have been seminary trained within your reach.
However, we must acknowledge that JESUS’ first disciples were not seminary trained yet were entrusted with the Word of Truth – the Gospel – as those who had personally interacted with the Living Word – JESUS Himself (Acts 4:13).
So, with your living faith in JESUS, with the indwelling power of the HOLY SPIRIT, and with the BIBLE in your hand, YOU – the believer in the pew – are EMPOWERED to study, to understand, and to do God’s Word with credibility and confidence ~!!!
